It's almost that time!! So, I feel like it's safe to let all of you know what it is that a friend and I have been working on. A while ago, I pitched an idea of a podcast to a friend of mine. 3 hosts, 1 studio, 1 central theme: POP CULTURE. When I pitched the idea, I made it very clear that were to be ourselves: as raw as possible and no holds barred.

The friend that I pitched the idea to, Shahaad, then found our third co host, Ron. We studied, we brainstormed, we collaborated our ideas and now... IT'S HAPPENING!!

So I know what you're all thinking. "What's with the twosome photo?". That's the name of the podcast everyone: Let's Have a Twosome. I also know that you're all a bit confused now. If there's three of us, how could it be a twosome? Well... Shahaad is moving away out of the city for a while and will return in April to join us. Until then, it's just Ron and myself and MAYBE a guest host from time to time.

We will be discussing world news, entertainment news, music, events, life and also accepting letters from our audience so that we can extend our advice and build a connection with you all. We will be airing an episode a week and look forward to the experience.

Until we air our first episode, we will be going live with each other on IG to discuss everything that will be on our show... kind of like a mock show (we're calling it a pre podcast). Follow us on IG (@tali.michelle , @i.amron) for all of our pre podcasts!

UPDATE

...Le me just start by saying it feels sooo good to be back. I have so much content for the site it's insane!! I promise you all that my absence was for a good cause. Let's get into it:

Okay so first of all, if you know me, you know that I'm never not working on biggering and bettering my brand. With that being said, I'm working a bunch of business things needed to open up the salon. I will be making not one, but TWO very big announcements on May 28th and June 10th here on the site so stay tuned.

Secondly, I am a mother. So while I love blogging and making videos, please be mindful that I am a parent first. Being a mom in something that I put 200k percent into so if my schedule isn't always consistent, keep that in mind. By the way, Nur is now 8 months and crawling, clapping, saying small words, and just the happiest little chicken nugget I've ever met!

Next, my youtube schedule...oh dear. I have finally come up with a schedule and a system that will allow me to record, edit and bring you all content at least twice a week. With that being mentioned, I'm editing a vlog as I type this.

Speaking of schedules and content, now that I'm finally back in blogging mode, I will be bringing you posts on the days that I don't post to youtube, which is about three times a week.

I hope you all didn't think that I've forgotten about the site and abandoned it, but we are back like we never left...

xoxo

Btw: I'm partnering with two really dope aspiring entertainment moguls to bring you all something really amazing... stay tuned!!

Victoria Beckham x Target

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram!

Autumn seems to be the season of collabs. H&M isn't the only anticipated collection to get us pumped every year. Target teams up with a high end designer every year to bring us an affordable shopping experience from the not-so-affordable brands of the world. They have worked with Jason Wh, Lilly Pulitzer, Missoni, Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen and other fashion houses.

This year, target will be teaming up with none other than the most fashionable Spice Girl herself, Victoria Beckham! Victoria Beckham has a self-titled global fashion brand that consists of some of the most classic pieces you'll ever see!

So what made the fashion mogul want to take on such a project anyway?

"For a while now, I have been thinking how great it would be to work on clothes for a customer that either doesn't want to pay or can't pay designer prices," the 42-year-old fashion designer said in an interview with Target.com. "I loved the idea of opening the brand up to a wider audience and being able to share my vision with a broader customer base. So when Target—a company based on accessibility and inclusiveness—proposed a collaboration which combined all of these things, it was an easy decision to make."

The collection is a capsule collection and will consist of more than 200 items for women, girls, toddlers and babies. The prices range from $6-$70 even though most items will run under $40. The sizing will start from XS and go up to 3X for women, NB-XL for children. We will be able to shop VB for Target in all target stores and target.com. The most awesome part of this collection is that select pieces will also be available on VictoriaBeckham.com.

I was not able to pull up any visuals from any of the pieces that will be a part of the capsule collection, but was informed that they will be available at a later date. I even provided my source with my email so I could bring you all visuals a few hours before the world gets to see!

Stay tuned!

Balenciaga Tried It !

Written By: Tali Michelle

Balenciaga is TRYING ME!

Okay so I know you all remember the mesh Chinese slippers that made their way into becoming a fashion trend in the mid 2000's. They came in just about every color you could think of and they were available for purchase at your local corner store, bodega, etc. If you're from the tri state area, the DMV, or NYC, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. If not, I'm speaking of these:

Remember now?

Okay so the luxury brand known as Balenciaga is bringing them back on the scene... for $1545! The brand debuted the old trend during their spring collection last year. Now, everything that a designer presents on the runway isn't always for retail. Sometimes it's all for show, decoration. But these slippers actually made it to the site!

The slippers have made a HUGE fuss on social media based on the fact that they retail in urban neighborhoods for $3.00  in a variety of colors. But, Balenciaga has decided they only are retailing the product in white. Great. The color easiest to get filthy.

Anyway who better to get a trend going than Rihanna? The fashionista was spotted recently sporting the footwear at a family baby shower.

Now the question lies: Buy or Bye?

Me personally, I would have to give these a Bye. The price isn't worth it, knowing that I could, if still in style (no shade to Rihanna), purchase these for $1543.75 less than the retail price. The only difference would be the name on the product and the quality... it better be for that price, OK!

So let's hear your opinion in the comments... BUY? Or BYE?

Cranes In The Sky | The Iconic Centerpiece Behind the Visual

Cranes in the sky | behind one of the most iconic fashion statement visuals to date

Written by: Tali Michelle

Solange's Cranes in the Sky visual definitely sends a message (as her whole does), but a lot of what the younger Knowles sister had to say was incorporated into what she was wearing

This visual, by far, had some of the most interesting, bold, organic looks this year, in my opinion but there's one look we all want to know about, in particular...The Cotton Candy Jumbo Sweater

The piece was made by 30-year-old German textile designer, Nadine Goepfert, as part of her collection called The Garments May Vary. It is a selection of clothes made from materials that track the physical movements of those who wear the garments.

Of course the garment looks light weight, for when you look at it, it resembles cotton candy, a cloud or even a pillow. In reality, Solange was wearing 10 pounds, "4 or 5 kilos" as Nadine put it, of memory foam on those stairs in her visual.

The piece was initially supposed to be worn to the met gala, but because it is so heavy and uncomfortable, Nadine and Shiona, Solange's stylist, decided to collab for another occasion. In August, Shiona contacted Nadine via email stating that Solange wanted to the garment for her album so she sent it over. She didn't know exactly how it would be used so when the visual dropped, she was surprised.

The sweater was completed three days before Nadine's shoot. She stated that she had been looking for the material in a color for a while. She knew she wanted it to be pink, but foam cannot be painted. "It will lose all of its characteristics", Nadine stated. When it was finished, she asked herself, "What did I create?".

Nadine was asked how she feels about her piece being in a music video as opposed to the usual art museums or galleries. Here's what she had to say:

"Usually, I like it to be shown in a museum or gallery, because then people start to get interested in the idea behind the piece — what it is about, and if there is more to know about this garment beyond its aesthetic. But I think that the way that Solange wears it in the video, and the whole video, is artistic. It's not like a pop video. There is a message. Everything that she's wearing is a special piece. I like that she was mostly working with young designers, or not well known designers, and combining those piece with things she'd made. Sometimes, if you lend your things to stylists, you never know what they're going to do with it. But I trusted them from the first moment and knew that I would like what they did."
