It's almost that time!! So, I feel like it's safe to let all of you know what it is that a friend and I have been working on. A while ago, I pitched an idea of a podcast to a friend of mine. 3 hosts, 1 studio, 1 central theme: POP CULTURE. When I pitched the idea, I made it very clear that were to be ourselves: as raw as possible and no holds barred.

 

The friend that I pitched the idea to, Shahaad, then found our third co host, Ron. We studied, we brainstormed, we collaborated our ideas and now... IT'S HAPPENING!!

 

So I know what you're all thinking. "What's with the twosome photo?". That's the name of the podcast everyone: Let's Have a Twosome. I also know that you're all a bit confused now. If there's three of us, how could it be a twosome? Well... Shahaad is moving away out of the city for a while and will return in April to join us. Until then, it's just Ron and myself and MAYBE a guest host from time to time.

 

We will be discussing world news, entertainment news, music, events, life and also accepting letters from our audience so that we can extend our advice and build a connection with you all. We will be airing an episode a week and look forward to the experience.

 

Until we air our first episode, we will be going live with each other on IG to discuss everything that will be on our show... kind of like a mock show (we're calling it a pre podcast). Follow us on IG (@tali.michelle , @i.amron) for all of our pre podcasts!

NOVA IS HERE !!

The time has come! And passed! On October 2, 2017, I gave birth to my second baby boy, Nova. He was born at 1:23am via c-section weighing in at 7 lbs. 

I went into labor on October 1 at about 6 or 7 pm. Earlier that day, everything was normal. I fed Nur, and although I was having a bit of pain, it was tolerable. I was chatting with my mother via FaceTime and I told her about my pains once they started to become more intense. Because of my terrible case of Braxton Hicks, she was over me and my false alarms.

So I called Shannon and she came right over. Nur stayed with my mom, who was still convinced that I was being dramatic. We went to the hospital and it turns out that I was 5 centimeters!!!! Half way through ...ok.

So I called Sadao once I was admitted, called my mother and everyone else. Long story short, I ended up having a c section... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE (I'm still recovering). While on my way to the recovery room, Sadao asks "so since it's not a girl what do you want as a name? I like Yuri." Yuri is too close Nuri... so I immediately thought of how I would binge watch Queen Sugar once this was all over. The name Nova then somehow seemed so perfect. So we named him just that❤️

Confessions of an Addict

Me: Hi my name is a Tali.

You all: hello Tali. 

Me: I'm addicted to ASMR.

So for the past few days I've been dodging my usual beauty videos and YouTube talk shows for a different kind entertainment... ASMR. 

ASMR is an acronym for autonomous sensory meridian response. It's an experience characterized by a static like or tingling sensation on the skin that usually starts on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. The purpose is to relax people/ to help trigger sleep.

I first found out about these videos when Trisha Paytas tried making them. In my opinion, hers weren't that great. A few days ago, I came across "ASMR Darling" on YouTube and I've been hooked ever since. 

Taylor, better known as ASMR Darling is well known for her whispering, nail tapping, brushing noises and a few other triggers that are popular in the ASMR world. 

I've also been watching "Brittany ASMR" and "Gibi ASMR"... they're all addicting. For the nights I can't sleep, they are my heroes lol. 

If you all know me, you all know my friend Nicolle. She is also into the ASMR videos and I suggested that she actually start recording her own. I hope she does. 

Here's a little guide to help you all better understand ASMR and hopefully you'll watch. 

UPDATE

...Le me just start by saying it feels sooo good to be back. I have so much content for the site it's insane!! I promise you all that my absence was for a good cause. Let's get into it:

Okay so first of all, if you know me, you know that I'm never not working on biggering and bettering my brand. With that being said, I'm working a bunch of business things needed to open up the salon. I will be making not one, but TWO very big announcements on May 28th and June 10th here on the site so stay tuned.

Secondly, I am a mother. So while I love blogging and making videos, please be mindful that I am a parent first. Being a mom in something that I put 200k percent into so if my schedule isn't always consistent, keep that in mind. By the way, Nur is now 8 months and crawling, clapping, saying small words, and just the happiest little chicken nugget I've ever met!

Next, my youtube schedule...oh dear. I have finally come up with a schedule and a system that will allow me to record, edit and bring you all content at least twice a week. With that being mentioned, I'm editing a vlog as I type this.

Speaking of schedules and content, now that I'm finally back in blogging mode, I will be bringing you posts on the days that I don't post to youtube, which is about three times a week.

I hope you all didn't think that I've forgotten about the site and abandoned it, but we are back like we never left...

Vloguary Coming Next Month !!

 

As the year comes to an end, one of my goals for 2017 is to become more consistent with my blogging. That goes for here, YouTube, Nuri's blog etc. Being a new parent is hard and I don't have as much time to blog as I would like, nonetheless, I fully understand the importance of catering to my audience and keeping you all interested in my content. With that being said...

 

VLOGUARY IS COMING!!

So I know a whole lot of YouTubers have a whole entire month dedicated to the holidays and call it "Vlogmas". Being as though I don't celebrate Christmas, I didn't participate in it. I'll try again next year and think of a different name for it. Then I thought, "Wait, is there such thing a Vloguary?". I then looked it up and TA-DA! Tons of videos popped up where content creators vlogged their entire January ad February and named it... VLOGUARY

 

 

 

I will not inform you on what my Vloguary will consist of for it's similar to a reality show, you just never know what will happen... and neither do I. It's all random content, a look into my personal, day-to-day life. You will probably see things that will make you laugh, cry, scream, even think. But it will be... AWESOME.

 

Also in 2017, I will have make-up tutorials, DIY videos, story times, Q+A videos and a lot more coming your way!!
